What a sourcing agent does, in five steps.

A sourcing agent sits between you and the manufacturers: they search, compare, negotiate and follow the order. These are our five steps. What we add: a single contact from the first message to delivery, and a detailed quote before you order.

  1. 01

    You describe your need

Product, quantity, budget, and your current price if you already buy it.

  2. 02

    We search and compare

We contact suppliers in Asia that one of us knows in person, and we compare the offers.

  3. 03

We negotiate, you approve the sample

We negotiate for you. Nothing is produced until you approve the sample.

  4. 04

    We follow production

The supplier keeps us informed, and we alert you to any deviation. Depending on the order, an inspector from our network checks the goods before shipment.

  5. 05

    We deliver to you

We organise transport and customs clearance all the way to your door.

Four ways of buying in Asia from Belgium.

There is no best option in absolute terms. Here are the four, with what each does well. No competitor names or prices: these are models.

When it is not for you.

We would rather tell you before you write to us.

  • A small one-off order

Search, follow-up and transport costs quickly weigh on a small quantity. A platform or a reseller in Europe is often simpler.

  • A standard product available in Europe

If a European reseller has it in stock, there is no reason to source it from Asia. We tell you so when that is the case.

  • A one-off task

Finding a contact or visiting a factory once: a freelancer paid by the day is enough.

  • A very urgent need

A shipment from Asia takes time. If you need it quickly, stock in Europe will be faster.

  • A product subject to standards

Labelling, compliance, authorisations: these obligations depend on the product and should be checked before buying, whichever option you choose.

How much does a sourcing agent cost?

It depends on the pay model. Three are common.

  • A commission

A percentage of the order amount.

  • A fee

A fixed amount per assignment or a day rate, paid whether or not the order goes ahead.

  • A margin in the price

The agent buys for you and their pay is built into the selling price.

At Unexia, our fee is included in the price we propose to you. You receive a detailed all-inclusive quote, with what can still vary (freight, duties). Whichever agent you choose, ask what the price includes and what it does not.

How we protect your order.

Our security comes from the relationship with suppliers, not from a promise of total control.

  • Partners met in person

We know their teams and the way they work.

  • Sample approval

Nothing is produced until you approve the sample.

  • Production follow-up

The supplier keeps us informed, and we alert you to any deviation.

  • Check before shipping

Depending on the order, an inspector from our network checks the goods before shipment.

A real case: Quatre Spots.

For the Quatre Spots basketball tournament (La Louvière, 11 and 12 July 2026), we had the jerseys, the balls and the T-shirts made: workshops found, samples approved, delivery all the way to Belgium. Unexia is also a sponsor of the tournament.

Our work is the relationship with suppliers. With our associates, we meet them in person.

Each associate brings their own trusted partners. So you buy from suppliers one of us knows.

10 questions to ask a sourcing agent.

Whether you work with us or with another agent, these are the questions that make the difference, and what you want to hear in reply.

  1. 01

Have you met your suppliers in person?

What you want to hear: Names of partners they know, not a list found online.

  2. 02

    How are you paid?

What you want to hear: Commission, fee or margin in the price: the model should be stated clearly before you start.

  3. 03

What does your quote include, and what can still vary?

What you want to hear: A good quote itemises the product price, transport and duties, and says what is still an estimate.

  4. 04

Can I approve a sample before any production?

What you want to hear: Yes, and at what cost.

  5. 05

Who follows production, and who checks the goods before departure?

What you want to hear: A named person, and a clear rule depending on the order.

  6. 06

Who organises transport and customs clearance, and who pays for them?

What you want to hear: Everything in writing: who handles it and what is included.

  7. 07

What happens if the delivered product does not match?

What you want to hear: Replacement, return or compensation: ask who negotiates with the factory.

  8. 08

    What is the minimum quantity?

What you want to hear: It depends on the product and the supplier, and should be stated before production starts.

  9. 09

In which cases would you advise me to buy differently?

What you want to hear: An honest agent can say when an order is too small or a product too standard.

  10. 10

Who will be my contact, from the first message to delivery?

What you want to hear: A single reachable contact, by email or on WhatsApp.

Questions about the sourcing agent.

  • What is the difference between a sourcing agent and a wholesaler?

A wholesaler sells products they already hold in stock. A sourcing agent looks for the right manufacturer for your need and organises the purchase. If a standard product is available from a reseller in Europe, that is often simpler.

  • Why use an agent rather than ordering alone on a platform?

A platform suits a small order of a standard product. An agent helps when the product is made to order, when the order repeats, or when you want a single contact for negotiation, the sample, transport and customs clearance.

  • What should I send for the free comparison?

The product (a photo, a link or a description), your current purchase price, the quantity and the country of delivery. The form below asks for exactly that.

  • What if you cannot do better than my current supplier?

We tell you so, and you keep your supplier. The comparison is free and carries no commitment.

  • How much does a sourcing agent cost at Unexia?

Our fee is included in the price we propose to you. Before you order, you receive a detailed all-inclusive quote, with what can still vary (freight, duties).
